GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Annual Ask Campaign
The Annual Ask Campaign is central to the EAT Foundation’s continuing growth and excellence.  Tuition alone does not cover the entire cost of educating a teacher attending EAT Foundation's various sessions.  Funds from the Annual Ask Campaign helps “bridge the gap” between tuition income and the actual cost of providing teachers with a hands-on education, thereby, helping us to deliver on our promise to educate our teachers in ag, gardening, nutrition and so much more.

Here are five good reasons to contribute to EAT Foundation Ask Annual Campaign:

  1. Tuition only covers about 8% of the actual cost of educating a teacher attending one of our 4 different educational sessions. The annual campaign is one of the few sources of income bridging the gap between what tuition provides and the total operating budget.

  2. Money from the annual ask campaign helps ensure the EAT Foundation can fund program development which promotes and provides the best in hands-on, integrated as well as experienial learning and a full range of opportunities, resources, and support.

  3. EAT Foundation completely relies on private support to meet new challenges, enhance technology, and improve the overall teacher experience.

  4. The annual ask campaign allows families, individuals, partnerships and companies to make a generous tax-deductible gift which directly funds innovative programs, teacher scholarships, resource and support services, and much more.

  5. Gifts to the annual campaign allow EAT Foundation to strive to keep tuition affordable and make the sessions assessible for teachers to receive an education they would have no exposure to otherwise.

Create an Opportunity Fund
Contributions to this fund support our tuition assistance program to ensure a quality  education program is accessible to all deserving teachers who desire it.  This is only available to our advanced session teachers.

Endowment Fund
The earnings, interest, and dividends of EAT Foundation Endowment Fund help to underwrite the foundation’s tuition assistance program helping to make quality ag education available to deserving teachers. An endowment works this way: with the find balance remaining intact, each quarter payout is made to support of programs, teachers or groups of teachers in need of financial aid. This type of support provides a lasting legacy to EAT Foundation, the programs and those teachers in need of financial support.

All gifts are tax-deductable to the extent allowed by law.

TYPES OF GIFTS

Pledges
You may make a commitment to EAT Foundation payable over a period of time to allow you to make a more generous gift than would be possible through a single contribution.

Cash
Gifts of cash are always appreciated and are tax-deductable to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Stocks, Securities and Other Real Property
Gifts of securities or other real property provide immediate support to the EAT Foundation. Donors receive tax deductions based on the fair market value of the property at the time of the gift and avoid capital gains tax on appreciated property.

Gifts In-Kind
EAT Foundation welcomes donations of goods or commodities relevant to our educational programs.  These are many and you can click here for a list or contact us for further details.

Life Insurance
It is possible to name EAT Foundation as beneficiary of all or a percentage of a life insurance policy. To receive a deduction, designate us as both the owner and beneficiary of the life insurance policy. If the policy has a cash value, you can take a deduction approximately equal to the cash value at the time of the gift. Annual premiums are tax deductable each year.

Bequests
By including EAT Foundation in your estate plans, you play a significant role in the foundation’s long-term financial stability. Bequests may be for a percentage of your estate, outright (designating a specific dollar amount, certain securities, or other real property), contingent (taking effect only if the primary beneficiary indicated in your will pre-deceases you), or in the form of a testamentary trust (in which the principal transfers to the EAT Foundation upon the death of a lifetime beneficiary of the trust).

Gifts in Memory of Others
This is a wonderful way to recognize and celebrate a special person or someone who has played an important role in your life. When contributing to the Memorial Fund, please provide the name of the person being remembered and if an acknowledgment card should be sent to a specific person and their address.

Life Income Gifts
You may hold certain assets which would make a substantial gift, but are serving a purpose right now. Transferring those assets to a charitable gift annuity or to a charitable remainder trust may allow you or another beneficiary to receive an income for life, sometimes, at a higher rate of return than you have been receiving. At the end of a specified timeframe, the remainder of the assets would come to the EAT Foundation.

We do have contacts in various areas to assist you with any of the above options.
